In defense of Bill, I think what he said deserves to be heard. Now you might think that this is a dangerous position to take for the Republicans but it is one of those statements where you offend, and I would say, deliberately, a large group of people but you don't care because they have no political power and everything my friend is political power.. money, ownership, jobs, education.. Everything that has a real value in this world relies on political power. And so Bennett, on the face of it utters words that were so reprehensible, it is as if he had used the "n" word itself, but who cares. Bush, hardly said two words, "we don't support that statement" and then went on to other ways of screwing you and your children. God love him. Last week he helped gut the environmental protection act, making it easier for me to rape the land, pollute, and other wise ... screw you and your children. Why is it so important to have a snowy owl anyway, your kids can see one the growing list of extinct animals. So Bush was too busy to care.
Back to Bill.. So like New Orleans, we don't care, it's just Blacks that were offended or suffered.. and they only reason we would ever care if they somehow threatened our power.. but this is not going to happen. They just don't vote. And we make it harder for them to even if they wanted to.
Did you know the average polling place in a white district that is Republican controlled, the ratio of voting booths to registered voters is 10 to 1 or better than in black communities. Who do you think controls that? WE DO. Such a laugh when you have 100- 200 and 1000 people trying to vote on just 5-6 machines. You know how long I waited to vote.. zero.. no time at all. I walked in voted and was out the country club, in less than 5 minutes. That's right a country club. In Georgia we just made it even harder for poor black people to even try to vote, now you have to have a state controlled ID card, and the minimum cost .. $20. Another little gatekeeper put in place by your every loveable Republican controlled state house.
The key word though that hardly anybody has picked up on in Bennett's little radio monologue was the word " impossible"
BENNETT: Well, I don't think it is either, I don't think it is either, because first of all, there is just too much that you don't know. But I do know that it's true that if you wanted to reduce crime, you could -- if that were your sole purpose, you could abort every black baby in this country, and your crime rate would go down. That would be an impossible, ridiculous, and morally reprehensible thing to do, but your crime rate would go down. So these far-out, these far-reaching, extensive extrapolations are, I think, tricky.
That would be" impossible".. he said it like it would be difficult to do, but questions back..Would it be such a bad thing to do? Impossible..?? It is true this upset a lot of people.. but again who cares.. not Bennett, not Bush, nor the Republicans. "that would be impossible.. " like if you really wanted to, you could do it but it would take effort. He actually said the words "abort every black baby" .. and no one cares. It just points out how no one is listening, watching, or holding us to any account. Beautiful.. is it not?

Will you vote against GOD?
I had to laugh again, as we have taken the lead and are out front on the next political unifier, Intelligent Design vs Evolution. Now I know some of you thought this might have been decided in the Scopes monkey trial, but we are bringing it up again, and with any luck what so ever, we will have it on the ballot in at least 15 states for the mid term election. This will pull the yahoo’s out of the closet and into the voting booth and we will again control the house and senate for another 2 years.
This is such a great debate as we have got you arguing against God, oh sure evolution is out there, but it’s God’s hands that makes it work, and we are going to cram that message down your kids throats, so that they understand that this country is God fearing and any body who talks against God, is commie pinko and a fag to boot. What a joke. So many yahoo’s will hit the election booth just to vote for God, and the local Republican what ever, even dog catcher, if he’s on the ballot, that the God hating, evil-lutionist, won’t even show up for his concession speech.
You thought putting gay marriage on the ballot was good, wait till you see the result for voting for or against God.
My two cents.

Puppet Strings
The other day I was reading our local daily newspaper, and in the business section they were profiling a woman who owned her own company. The article told of her school, the year she graduated, her family, the last book she read, (mine by the way is Harry Potter.. all of them.. just recently read them straight through, remarkable how much of better writer she has become since her first book) .. anyway.. they also asked her who her most admired person was.. and she replied, George W Bush. Now this was a public forum, more an advertisement for her company really, (and free at that.. ) so her reasoning is very sound, yes by all means , and I too shout it from the roof tops.
Me shouting: George Bush is the most admired person ever to have existed, next to Jesus of course....
So, yes, I will shout that from the rooftop.. But in private with the door closed, as we ( All true Republican's) know, that Bush is really just a past drug user, an alcoholic, c student, draft dodger, and basically not very bright. We, and I mean I All True Republicans (ATR's), know this and we revel in it.
This is not the first time we have had mental midget in the oval office. And again, I will shout it from roofs tops,
Me again shouting: " Ronald Reagan was the best president we have ever had or will ever have, that has held office.. all past and future presidents will be judged against him.. he was the best.."
( me no longer shouting)
well you get the idea.. but in private we ATR's know Ronnie was probably suffering from Alzheimer's while in office, and for the most part, was not sure which movie he was in at the moment... but boy how Ronnie could follow his lines.
After Reagan was shot, mentally he went down hill very fast (he dropped off a cliff) ,
( if you need any proof, just look at the transcript when he actually testified at the Iran-Contra hearings.. "I don't recall.. I don't remember.. I have no direct recollection of that.. " .. he had the lines down pat.. but he wasn't there)
and so we went those last years with NOBODY really in charge.. and now to my main point..
TA DA>>>>
that's why we have Carl Rove pulling the strings today. They ATR's and those controlling the White House, won't let another total vacuum sit in the oval office again. This is especially important as we control both the house and the senate, and we must have a very strong minder, someone with absolute authority. There is just to much money at stake.
So the bottom line is, we, all True Republicans, know Bush is a boob, a shirker, dimwit, bored , but it doesn't matter, as we have a keeper who is in charge and keeps the executive branch running and making many more dollars for us. That's what is important. It does not matter that Bush doesn't read a paper, has no idea what a hurricane of force five really means, and is essentially vacuous.. but the office still runs, and for the most part, and they can get it right, at least the second go around. ( hurricanes, reasons for war, etc.. ) And the best news yet, Rove has no problem of firing people, or threatening them, or even enacting some good old fashion revenge.. none.
He is doing his job. All we (ATR's) expect him to do is keep our taxes low, my profits high, your wages low, your taxes higher, and let us live our life, with out our having to worry about yours.

Not on the News
I sometimes enjoy reading the newspaper looking for the little stories between the headlines that don't make it to the national news media outlets. Most of the time they are hysterical.. take this morning. Our ever vigilant FBI found an Egyptian student who had an airline captain uniform, and whole series of terrorist helpful instructional videos and other manuals in his apartment to include a map to the Memphis International Airport. By the way Atlanta, New York, Boston, LA may have international airports but Memphis, come on... you fly to Fayetteville but hardly Bogota. Anyway.. where was I .. Oh yes.. So the list of text and DVD's .. get this.. and I am quoting..
"Ups and Downs of takeoff and landings", "Airplane Talk", Mental Math for Pilots" , Mastering GPS Flying, and my personal favorite, "How an Airplane Captain Should Look and Act".
I am not making this up either. Now here's the great part.. the FBI only found this guy because the company that sold them said that Maawad an Egyptian university student had not paid the $2,500 for the material. I had no idea terrorist training manuals were so expensive. The better question of course is why the hell is anybody selling terrorist training manuals, like these. I looked on eBay and several of the book sites.. could not find them there either. Only good thing is the story in the newspaper did not offer the web site. But for those interested...
it's http://www.sportys.com/acb/showdetl.cfm?DID=19&Product_ID=6033.
Have fun..

Over the Weekend
Well, if you read my last blog, I had give old Mikey until Friday to resign.. but actually they cleaned out his office over the weekend and he was gone on Monday. The fall from grace could not have happened faster if he had been dropped of the white house balcony. You can see Rove’s hand on this. He saw the poll numbers dropping and the presidents approval rating dropping under Herbert Hoover’s, (beside inventing the vacuum cleaner I am still not sure why old Herb gets such a bad rap), and they needed a sacrifice like yesterday. I do not think Mikey “fell on the sword” he was just simply told not to come back to work. Again, do not cry for him he’s a republican and he already had a corner office lined up, his “rolodex” is on his new computer, before Saturday. He is taking two weeks off before showing up at his new digs.
{using the word Rolodex puts me into an age category that defines an era, the baby boom, other words, LP, 8 Track, Selectric, floppy, rabbit ears, the list is endless and growing. I visited the Smithsonian and marveled at how so many of the items I had used during my stint in the Military, were proudly displayed. Hell, they had my office and household gear in glass cases that I have used for years and probably still have in my basement.}
Roberts is in. You guys are all so hep up on abortion… you should be worried about states rights, and property issues. But we have got you so hooked on a issue that will allow Alabama the right to take one more step back to coat hanger medicine, that you forget, that when I want to build my next apartment complex, I can pay enough money to the local yokel in charge of your little towns zoning and I can get it condemned and force you off. Damm that saves me money too. So it’s a done deal.
Almost done.. you remember Orville’s 1984.. you should go back and read it, just for laughs, we study it… the key here is controlling thought, by controlling word usage. FOX news, we finally have a entity, that tells people how to think, and what words to say, the latest, BLAME GAME. Bush says for the 100th time. “Not going to play it..”. BLAME , negative something you should not do ( learned that in kindergarten..right?) and GAME, a frivolous activity.. just perfect. So he’s not going to do something your not supposed to do that’s a waste of time anyway… just perfect.. I hope your watching Bill O’Reilly everyday, as you need to keep your mind focused on what we tell you is important.
That’s all.. for now. Remember..Me first.

Assistant to the City manager
Now, does anyone else finally see the humor here...
Dwight (AKA Michael Brown): I am the assistant manager.
Michael Scott -The Boss ( AKA The Oklamhoma CITY MANAGER): .. for the last time.. you are the Assitant to the City Manager, there's a big difference.
Dwight (AKA Michael Brown): Same difference.
If anybody else were to LIE so blatantly on their resume and be called out on it.. they would be called into the bosses office and during that meeting his computer, all the contents of his desk, personal files would all be confiscated. He would be told at the meeting that his services would no longer be required and he would be escorted from the building. Now Michael Brown was escorted from Baton Rouge.. and his next escort will be out of Washington. My guess is by Friday of next week. He is being asked to put things in order now, desk, e-mail, start shredding what you can you have 3 days.
But he will land on his feet, so don't lose any tears, his little black book of PRIVATE!!! phone numbers, cell phones, and he knows how things work in DC. He is taking out of the office what is most important and that's connections.
His buddy the guy who had the deputy directors job, Joe Allbaugh did ok when he left FEMA he started The Shaw Group Inc. a consulting firm, and he just got a contract for one of the companies that he "consults for" to pump water out of New Orleans and the starting price tag is $200,000,000 (lots of zero's) . I say the starting price tag because these contracts are RENEWABLE with out further competition. The reason, they are already there and have the equipment why complicate things.. so this 200M will expand to 1B in matter of months. Maybe someone in the news media will go check on that. But guess what a 15% commission is on $200M. It's $30M dollars. That's not a bad payday. I can bet you that his social security year was paid in say ohhhh.. the first 2 hours of work .. but it be fun to figure it exactly.
So don't worry about Mike or Joe, they are one us Republican's and they are going to do just fine thank you.. you Democrats just see disaster.. We Republican's see opportunity.

What can you do with 1.5B
While this is going to be a short note.. I was wondering what you can do with $1.5B .. mmmm.. let's just see if we had actually spent it on improving the levee system in New Orleans what would it have meant.. and let's look at it from two views.
Democratic .. blame game view.. What would we have saved
Loss of life.. I am not going to begin to put a cost saving factor on this.. just to morbid to calculate
Insurance losses - estimated right now at $26B
Cost for relief effort - feeding and housing - Bush has asked for $50B
Military costs- $1 M per day ( low estimate) but in 100 days $1 B estimate they will be activated at least 200 days ... so at least $2B
Loss of tourist business revenue.. estimate $1M per day for new Orleans huge convention city 3B per year - estimate at least 1.5 years before city can host convention. 5B lost
Loss of tax revenue for state of Louisiana... 1M per week .5B per year.
Jobs lost
Uninsured loss.. ( few if any of the homes in the flood ravaged areas has flood insurance
The numbers are staggering.. all because 1.5B was to much to put in a budget to protect one of the largest cities in the US.
A largely black city
A largely democratic city
With a black mayor
Poor people
The Republican view....
"these underprivileged people are happy here, look at all the services they have now"
Barbara ( desperately out of touch) Bush" - somewhat paraphrased.
"Trent's home was wiped out, but now he will be able to build an even nicer one" Bush ( again somewhat paraphrased.
MMM... well actually when I think of it .. not spending that money does make sense, no need to get invest that kind of money, it's not helping the oil industry, they are outside the levee system anyway, if it does happen, we just hire good old Hally B to go in and rebuild, lot's of good govm't money for contracts in the 50B. And I don't think we lost one Republican .. at least not in Oleans.. and the "New" new Orleans will be bigger better and more white than ever before.. actually not all that bad .. at least for us Republican's..even the stock market has gone up.

What went wrong... an aftermath of pain and suffering
What went wrong .. there are so many areas for exploration and of course blame.
So many seem to be blaming the people who did not evacuate, and surely there is room to speculate that many just ignored the warning and decided to " party and to "ride out" the hurricane", but you don't do that with a egg beater running at Mach 5, not wise. And especially you don't do that on the coast. This is not stupid, it's suicidal. But let's for a moment forget about the people that had the choice and the opportunity and ability to leave. What about the others?
At this point, things change and we are no longer talking about people who could have chosen to leave and take up temporary residence in their other summer home, now we talk to the people who had no choice but to seek assistance. This is where I have the main question as to what should and could have been done.
While it was a mandatory evacuation, there were many that had no means to escape, so at this point in the planning process, do we decide to sacrifice them to the storm and say sorry. The local government gave them access to a safe haven, a choice between the Dome or the convention center, two of the only buildings in New Orleans that could have survived a category 4-5 hurricane, but still no way to get there and certainly not the safe haven getting out of Dodge would have been.
Why didn't we have every school bus and city bus pick up as many people as they could and take as many as possible to safe havens as possible. They had nearly a day to get this done. It might not have been pretty but once a bus was loaded, it could set off. Thousands would have been saved. Why did we not have national guard troops drive trucks, and other military personnel carriers that would have been pressed into service and move another 1,000- 5,000 people. Why couldn't we have had every taxi in town pressed into service and move another 1,000- 5,000 people to safety. With even the most basic of pre-planning and an action plan, this could have been put into action.
So, why this time around ..nothing. The answers, no money, inconsequential sphere of influence, and NO PERSONNEL. (this is the most serious) New Orleans has no political capital, it's 80% black, so it's not anything the sitting government has to worry about. It's also very poor, budgets are extremely over extended and the entire region relies heavily on government assistance, food programs, and the like just to survive.
But here is the one thing you have not heard. There are no national guard troops left in Mississippi, Alabama, Arkansas or Louisiana they are all serving extended tours in Iraq. More than 75% of the national guard are gone. You have not heard that in the news because it is secret. Has to do with homeland security. The states had a deal that they would always keep 50% at home, that's public. But when a unit of say 1000 are set to deploy, 250 of the oldest soldiers find reasons to stay behind, sickness, not meeting the physical, asthma, bad feet, bad back. The younger soldiers, the ones that can't get out of going, call this "Milk Sickness" from milking it for all its worth. So what happens next, is that half that was to stay behind, get added to the active deployment, as those loss of numbers have to be made up somewhere. The states are not going to complain, publicly, as the National Guard and Army Reserve, mean big money and it's a jobs program. You would not begin to believe how many people serving one weekend a month and two weeks in the summer in the Army Reserve or State National Guard, is their ONLY source of taxable regular income... The only real job.
On a recent activation the average age of the unit being activated was 46 so that means you had sergeants that were 60 years old. Not only are they not going to Iraq, they are of little assistance to the flood victims. It's a jobs program, it's an old boys network, they do not train for this type of assistance.
You want another jobs program, the police force, 400 of them deserted and fled the area, they have not returned. I expect the average age of those he took that route, to be over 50.
There are still ravage areas a good week after the hurricane that have yet to see the first support and assistance.
But it's good to know we are building a new post office in Baghdad this week.

I was a democrat and I am now a renewed Republican, and this Blog is my journey, to that side of the fence. My point will be to make you mad, and it should be read by both Democrats and Republicans.. it will be very upsetting to some.. it will be processed in a series of detailed postings that will cover the economy, religion in politics, political manipulation, money, ect. I hope more than anything it will make you think. But for now.. stay tuned.. I will be rocking the boat.
